Werner Stiftung: The Werner Foundation was established in 1944 with the goal to support talented young chemists through grants for advanced study. A reorientation of the Foundation in 1990 to adapt to the evolving academic landscape has led to the introduction of the Alfred Werner Fellowship, named for the first Swiss Nobel laureate in chemistry. In 2002, the Fellowship was transformed into the Alfred Werner Assistant Professorship. The Alfred Werner Foundation has introduced the Alfred Werner Assistant Professorship to promote young faculty in chemical disciplines in Switzerland. The Alfred Werner Foundation board has decided to erect 2004 a Fellowship supporting a second Alfred Werner Assistant Professorship. The Fellowship will be awarded for an initial three (3) year period, and can be renewed for a second three (3) year period upon application to the Foundation. The Fellowship serves the goal of promoting the development of young faculty in chemical disciplines in Switzerland. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and at least one year of postdoctoral experience. |
