Dorothy Crowfoot Hodging

2006-05-05 - The founder of the Maria Goeppert-Mayer Interdisciplinary Symposium, Professor Kim Baldridge, is bringing a similarly styled interdisciplinary meeting to the University of Zurich. The inaugural Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin Symposium will take place Friday 5 May 2006 13:00 -18:30, new: Lecture hall 20, Irchel Campus, Winterthurerstrasse 190. There will be signs up. The speakers for this years event include: Lia Addadi, Weizmann Institute; Anna Bernardi, University of Milan; Jennifer Albaneze-Walker, Shering-Plough, and Jenny Glusker, Fox Chase Cancer Center. Symposium in Honor of Professor Heinz Heimgartner

2006-06-09 - Professor Dr. Heinz Heimgartner received his Diploma in Chemistry from the University of Zurich (1968) and completed his Ph.D. work under the guidance of H. Schmid (1972). Throughout his career, he has been associated with the Institute of Organic Chemistry. He became Privatdozent in 1980, and in 1987 he was appointed Titularprofessor. He was awarded the Werner Prize and Medal of the Swiss Chemical Society in 1978, and the Kametani Award in 2005. He has distinguished himself by outstanding research in Heterocyclic Chemistry.
