The laboratory of microanalysis performs routinely microanlayses of organic substances (research samples, pharmaceutical ingredients, soils and ashes) on a LECO Truespec CHNS(O)-microanalyser, with the option of Oxygen-determination, if desired. FT-IR spectra are recorded on a state of the art JASCO FT-IR 6100 spectrophotometer. The instrument is equipped with a Golden Gate ATR (diamond) unit for difficult sample treatment (oils, pastes, air- and moisture sensitive substances etc.) and the spectra can be delivered as hardcopies, or by email in PDF- or ASCI-format. Other services include the determination of Water by Karl-Fischer Titration, Halogenides, Acids or Bases by potentiometric titration. For special requests we routinely run pharmaceutical analyses for clinical trials in a GMP environment (Swissmedic approved), according to ICH Q7, Chapter 19 (Sulphated ash, Heavy Metals, HPLC-purity and assay, UV/VIS, FT-IR etc.) Other analyses include protocols from the European and the US-Pharmacopoeias.
